Uganda weekly Covid cases reach 60

According to the latest reports, the weekly number of Covid cases in Uganda has reached 60. This marks a slight increase from the previous week, when there were 52 reported cases.

However the rise in cases has been attributed to a number of factors, including increased testing and the spread of the Delta variant of the virus.

State minister for primary Healthcare Ms Margaret Muhanga revealed this yesterday while receiving a mobile laboratory donated by the European Union programme for supporting countries under Intergovernmental Authority on Development .

She further revealed that most of the covid cases reported were from Kampala and Wakiso districts.

Meanwhile health officials are urging people to continue following recommended safety protocols, such as wearing masks and practicing social distancing, in order to help prevent further spread of the virus.

Vaccination efforts are also ongoing in Uganda, with the government working to vaccinate as many people as possible in order to achieve herd immunity.

However, vaccine hesitancy and limited supplies of vaccines have been significant challenges in the country’s vaccination campaign.

Overall, the situation in Uganda remains concerning, and it is important for individuals and communities to remain vigilant and take steps to protect themselves and others from the virus.
